Ornothology:In
the Baie du Mont-St-Michel. The valley leading from the
Bay is the Couesnon valley and is rich in birdlife. The
lake at garden bottom is part of the river Couesnon. In
the spring and autumn during the migration and at other
times the lake has a variety of rarer birds in evidence,
these include the Bittern, Osprey, Avocet, Great White
Heron, Spoonbill, Little Egret, Garganey and Shoveler
Duck, various Harriers, Black and Red Kite, Great Crested
Grebe, Red-Necked Grebe and the Black Winged Stilt. The
number of weekend 'twitchers' suggests that the lake is
a wildlife paradise. |
